This document is intended to address a number of issues related to the proper application of bias to VDI's varactor frequency doublers.
This document provides specifications for VDI's waveguide feedhorns.
This document details the waveguide bands employed by VDI components. In all cases VDI's waveguide flanges are compatible with standard EIA flanges and any reflections caused by small discontinuities in the waveguide dimensions are found to be negligible. VDI's products extend to frequencies well above the standard waveguide bands and therefore we have adopted our own revised extension of the EIA standard for the higher frequencies (ie. WR-1.2 covers 600-900 GHz). Also, frequency multipliers and harmonic mixers require waveguides optimized for bands spaced at integer multiples. For example, a full-band WR-10 frequency doubler with an output band of 75-110 GHz has an input band of 37-55 GHz. The closest EIA standard band at the input is WR-22 covering 33-50 GHz and thus VDI has adopted a WR-21.0 waveguide with dimensions 210 x 105 mils. VDI's WR-21.0 flange mates directly to the EIA standard WR-22 flange.
